Request an Appointment

 To request an appointment:

  • Request an appointment click the link Submit a new request (Please ensure you are available for our health professional to contact for same day appointments)
How we handle your requests
Our practice uses a clinical triage system to make sure you receive the right care, with the right clinician, at the right time.
  • All requests received during our core hours from 8am are reviewed and processed on the same working day .
  • A clinician will assess the information you provide and decide the most appropriate next step.
  • This may include:
    • booking you an appointment (same day, soon, or routine, depending on clinical need)
    • sending you advice or information by text/phone
    • arranging tests or follow‑up
    • signposting you to another appropriate NHS service (e.g. pharmacy, NHS 111, urgent care, dental, optometry, physiotherapy).
You will be informed on the day you contact us how your request will be managed.
Please note: this does not mean you will always be seen the same day, but you will always receive an appropriate response and, where needed, an appointment will be arranged according to clinical priority.
If your condition is life‑threatening (for example, chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, signs of stroke, heavy bleeding, collapse), please call 999 or attend A&E immediately rather than submitting an online or routine request.
We are sorry that we cannot guarantee same-day appointments for everyone who  wishes to have one. Our appointments are triaged by clinical urgency. When we receive over 100 requests in a morning it is impossible to advise the time you will be phoned but what we ask is you have your phone available to take the call.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email
  • We may sign post you to other appropriate services

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or Call 111.

https://111.nhs.uk/ is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.

To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone the practice as soon after 8am as possible.

Home visits may be performed by our seperate home visiting service.
